Our Culture Book
In the beginning...
Catalin and Pascal worked together for nearly 10 years building companies including Bluemerang Capital and starting Carlyle's Renewable and Sustainable Energy Fund.
As they gained more visibility in the renewable sector, both became interested in building something longer-term and bolder.
In 2021, Pascal and Catalin launched Aukera (the Basque word for 'opportunity'). AtlasInvest partnered with them to build a company with a long-term approach. A number of colleagues from Bluemarang and the Carlyle Group joined them from the beginning and more joined later.

Scale, speed, and substance became the core of the company's vision. Aukera was designed to be entrepreneurial and human from day one, and to keep that culture as it grows.
Success can be attributed to the people, drive and commitment to excellence found company-wide at Aukera.
Our goal? By 2030 to have 5 gigawatts of operational renewable assets in Europe.
Our culture book was created by our team, workshopping what makes Aukera special and what we stand for.

At Aukera, we take pride in our tenacity and ambition and finding creative solutions to issues. We started developing projects in Romania before everything was 100% clear (i.e. less visible route to market or project finance). That did not stop us from going forward and be an early player. Today the renewable landscape in Romania has become much more competitive and we start to see some solutions to issues that even a few years ago were not there. Our determination to surmount obstacles remains resolute as we strive to make a meaningful impact.
